Contrary to popular opinion, your Sun sign is not about who you are, but instead is more about who you are to become in this lifetime.  When you read a basic Sun sign description, some of you may recognize yourselves readily, while others will not identify themselves much at all.  The variations are usually related to whether the Moon or any of the planets were in the same section of the zodiac as the Sun at birth which will cause a greater chance at self-recognition.  If your personal planets fall in different signs and areas than your Sun sign, you may not see much of yourself in the description at all and in fact may identify more with the Sun sign description before or after your own.  The reason for this can be blamed on two of planets that are considered to be very personal, Mercury and Venus.  These two planets' movements keep them very close to the Sun, hence, they will always be found in the same sign as the Sun, and, if not, in the sign before or after the Sun.
